What are the most exciting things you've done since graduating Central?

I have had the good fortune to utilize my degrees in a profession to which I am devoted and proud of my accomplishments. Normally, with history degrees people assume you are a teacher; however, I was able to enter the museum field. I started my professional career as a National Park Service Ranger/Historian (here in Philadelphia at Independence NHP and the Yorktown Battlefield in Colonial NHP); served as the executive director at Historic RittenhouseTown (16 Years) in Fairmount Park, at the Masonic Library & Museum of Pennsylvania, and the Northampton County Historical & Genealogical Society. My most exciting position was as the Director of the Historic Jamestowne Fund for the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation where I was able to closely work with the archaeologists making exciting discoveries at the site of the first permanent English colony in the New World. I have been published in my field in books, professional magazines & journals, and within the general media.

If you were graduating Central this year, would you still go into the same profession, or would you choose something that maybe did not exist 50 years ago? If a different profession, what would it be?

I would stay in the same profession, but fine tune my studies more tightly. Specific Museum education and degrees did not exist fifty years ago as it does now.

Hey Sheldon! It was great to see you last year. A very Happy Birthday. I am pleased to discover that so many of the 233 are older than me. I am still a young 68 for most of this year.

Marc,
A belated Happy Birthday. Just think, I have known you since our early days at Finletter. We talked about getting together at the reunion and we should definitely do it. All the best.

What a loss.  He was clearly an iconic member of the 233 and will be remembered by all.  My prayers are with his family and close friends.

Hey Gary,

A very Happy Birthday . It has been much too long and I pray you and your family enjoy good health. I was sorry you could not attend the reunion, but we are talking about one in three years. With all best wishes.
